Ty M. Bridges has been a partner in the Firm since 1976. He was admitted to the practice of law in 1972 for the State of Georgia. He obtained his college degree in chemistry and his law degree from Emory University. While attending Emory Law School, he was associate editor of the Emory Law Review. He has published several legal articles. He has co-authored a law practice book with his partners entitled Domestic Relations: Georgia Law Practice System, The Michie Company and a layman's guidebook for the settlement of Georgia estates entitled, Guiding Those Left Behind in Georgia, Pohl & Bridges, 2001. Mr. Bridges has substantial experience in business and corporate matters, which includes contracts, leasing and business formation. He is experienced in elder law matters relating to the structuring of financial and estate plans, the drafting of wills and trusts, and the handling of probate and guardianship proceedings. In this regard, he routinely prepares wills, living trusts, trust agreements, marital deduction trusts, transfers to minor trusts, powers of attorney, and durable health powers. In the past, he has served as general counsel for several major corporations that operate throughout the United States.
He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Fiduciary Section of the State Bar and the Atlanta Bar Association. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He presently serves as the President of the Emory University Alumni Interfraternity Council, Alumni President of his Emory college fraternity, and as a member of the Delta Tau Delta National Fraternity Housing Commission. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Human Ecology Action League.
